We believe that children are capable individuals, developing and acquiring skills at their own individual pace. Our philosophy is inspired by the Reggio Emilia pedagogy and intertwined with academic influences. The emergent and project-based curriculum that we emulate from Reggio Emilia, offer ample open-ended opportunities for children to be “hands-on” in their explorations, decision makers in their communities, and discoverers of their world. Our academic provocations help to prepare the children for kindergarten readiness and the world outside of preschool. We do believe that children learn BEST through play, so without imposing a “sense of pressure” to learn, children will acquire basic knowledge of the following:
● literacy- such as letter recognition, sounds, writing practice, sequencing, story-time, and storytelling
● math- such as number recognition, counting, one-to-one correspondence, basic addition and subtraction, shapes, weight, quantity
● science- such as meteorology (weather & seasons), biology (senses & anatomy), botany (plant life), geography (mountains & rivers)
Children will also experience a curriculum that introduces them to the Spanish language, American Sign Language, and Bible stories.
A.S.P.I.R.E. believes in nurturing each unique and individual child wholly; physically, cognitively, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. A.S.P.I.R.E. is built on biblical principles and is an acronym for the key concepts that we emphasize and strive to foster in the children we serve.
